Is there another season that comes with such a strong flavor personality as fall? When I think if fall pumpkin, caramel, apple, spices, and more come to mind. This smoothie brings home both the flavors of fall and is full of healthful goodness! It is so decadent it feels more like dessert than a healthy meal option, but don't be deceived.
Containing kale, one of the most nutritious foods you can eat. Don't worry if you don't like kale's taste because you will not taste it in this delicious mix. Green apples are an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium. Choose Granny Smith apples for a boost of cancer-fighting benefits. And let's not forget, the spices cinnamon and nutmeg are full of health benefits and are a great addition to a nutritious diet.
How to Make
Cut banana in small pieces and store in freezer overnight or until fully frozen.
Peel apple and cut into small pieces
Add banana and apple to the blender
Add yogurt, milk, kale, and spices
Blend until smooth
Combine all ingredients into a blender until smooth and all of your frozen banana has been blended. Pour in a cup. Optional step, top with Whipped almond cream and cacao nibs.
Ingredients
1 small green apple
1 frozen banana
1 tsp of apple pie spices (replace with 1/2 tsp of nutmeg & 1/2 tsp of cinnamon)
1/2 cup of greek yogurt
1/4 cup of coconut milk
chopped kale
A drop of caramel flavoring. If you can find monk fruit, use that. You can also use caramel extract or stevia.
