Chocolate chips or cacao? Which do you prefer? Whichever you choose, you are sure to enjoy your pick! For those of us opting for healthier eating, I would suggest testing the cacao options. You can feel good about cacao's flavonoids, which acts as an antioxidant in the body, preventing cellular damage. Cacao has many documented health benefits. How is that for a fantastic treat! If you want to share a sweet treat with younger family members that prefer milk chocolate, this is a must-try.
They turned out to be a great afternoon snack. These sweet treats were SO good and so simple to make. You can play around with this mix and make some pretty tasty treats.
How to Make
Whisk together honey, almond butter, coconut milk, and vanilla. Add in the dry ingredients, fold half way and add in coconut oil (so that it doesn’t clump together with the cold wet ingredients). Combine until a smooth dough and add cacao nibs. ⠀
⠀
Roll into ~2 T sized balls. Makes 12 cookie dough balls.
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. honey (Note- you can use agave, but you don't get the same health benefits that honey has to offer. Also, we want to steer clear of the high fructose in agave.)⠀
2 Tbsp. coconut oil, melted⠀
2 Tbsp. almond butter⠀
3 Tbsp. coconut, almond or oat milk⠀
1/2 tsp. vanilla⠀
2/3 cup almond flour ⠀
1/3 cup coconut flour (Original recipe called for oat flour, we had coconut on hand. It worked just as well.)⠀
2 Tbsp. cacao nibs, or chocolate chips
